The closest island to Chalong Marina — four nautical miles of flat water to a long white beach and easy snorkelling straight off the boat.
Coral Island, Koh Hey on the chart, sits four nautical miles south-east of Chalong Marina. It is the first stop on almost every charter we run because it is close enough to reach in under an hour and the water on its western side is protected in most conditions.
The reef comes up shallow near the beach, so snorkelling here works for children and first-timers. On a private charter you can anchor away from the day-tour boats and have the water largely to yourself.
