Phi Phi is twenty-seven nautical miles from Chalong: a long day under power, an easy overnight leg under sail. Staying on board changes the place completely.
The day boats arrive around ten and leave by four. If you are anchored there overnight you get Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon and the eastern bays of Phi Phi Leh in the early morning and the late evening, when they are quiet.
Phi Phi Don has the restaurants and the nightlife if you want a night ashore; Phi Phi Leh is uninhabited national park.
